We absolutely loved our stay at Macondo! The staff is incredibly helpful, speaking outstanding English. They answered all our questions and really helped us get the best tours for our means. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean, and having a private bathroom is in high demand. The only downside is that the hostel is not obvious to find. 😕

I recently stayed at Macondo Hostel in San Gil for two weeks during my backpacking trip through Colombia. This hostel exceeded my expectations in every way. The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to go the extra mile to ensure a great stay. The accommodations were clean and comfortable, with hot showers and strong water pressure. The kitchen facilities were excellent, with a fridge and free coffee available. The WiFi was fast and reliable. I also appreciated the hostel's eco-friendly initiatives and the variety of activities that could be arranged right from the front desk. Couldn't recommend this place more!

This hostel is conveniently located near the main square and is surrounded by a variety of restaurants, bars, and cafes. the staff is friendly and helpful, providing information about local attractions and organizing adventurous activities. the rooms and toilets are kept clean, ensuring a comfortable stay.

The hot tub water may occasionally be dirty, but the staff promptly cleans it, ensuring a pleasant experience.

The staff at the hostel were incredibly friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to provide helpful tips and assistance. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we could check-in at 2am after a long night of travel. We also enjoyed the free tejo night, which added to the fun atmosphere of the hostel.

One minor issue we encountered was occasional problems with the hot water in the showers. as soon as we brought it up with the staff, they were quick to address the issue.

Had an incredible time at a friendly and welcoming hostel. the staff were extremely helpful, providing directions and timetables for local attractions. I enjoyed chatting with them at the reception while sipping on a beer. the garden was stunning and the jacuzzi was perfect. the hostel directly coordinated sporting activities, making it convenient and reliable. the facilities were comfortable and clean, with hot showers and strong water pressure. the kitchen was well-equipped, and the WiFi was strong. one of the best hostels I've stayed in. Cons: Hard to think of anything 🤔.

We had an amazing stay at Macondo! The staff were incredibly helpful and understanding when we arrived sick, allowing us to check in early. They even helped us book activities directly through the hostel, which made things so convenient. The atmosphere was fantastic, with plenty of activities organized for guests. We particularly enjoyed the barbecue and getting to know the other travelers and the Australian owner, who shared his knowledge of the area with us. a great experience at Macondo!

The staff at the hostel were incredibly helpful and accommodating. When the weather canceled our activity, they were quick to switch it to another one, so we didn't waste the day. They even moved our laundry in when it started raining. The rooms were spacious and the atmosphere was friendly and social. I had a great stay at Macondo and would highly recommend it!

The hostel had a well-equipped kitchen, a cozy lounge area, and a beautiful outdoor space with hammocks and a jacuzzi. a fantastic stay in San Gil.
